People using Pettyworx to get jobs done

Pettyworx connects you with skilled, vetted service providers across South Africa. We make it easy to describe what you need, find the right person, and get it done — with payment, job tracking and dispute support all in one place. By using the app or website, you agree to these terms.

01Who we are

Pettyworx is a South African services marketplace. We are a platform, not a service provider — we do not do the jobs ourselves. We connect clients like you with independent providers who do. Think of us as a trusted matchmaker for local services.

02Who can use Pettyworx

  • You must be 18 years old or older
  • You must have a valid South African mobile number
  • You must be acting in good faith — no fake accounts, no fraud

03How it works

  1. Describe your job — tell us what you need in plain language (or just talk to Peti, our AI)
  2. We find providers — Pettyworx matches your job to verified providers in your area
  3. A provider accepts — they respond with an offer; you can review it before agreeing
  4. The job gets done — track progress in the app
  5. Pay securely — payment is processed through the platform

04Payments

  • Payment is processed through a licensed South African payment provider
  • Pettyworx does not hold your money — funds flow through a licensed payment service
  • The price you agree to with a provider is what you pay. Platform fees, if any, are shown clearly before you confirm
  • If there is a dispute, the payment process is paused while we help resolve it

05Your responsibilities

  • Describe your job honestly and accurately
  • Be at the agreed location at the agreed time, or give the provider reasonable notice if plans change
  • Treat providers with respect — they are people doing a job
  • Do not arrange payment outside the platform — this removes your payment protection
  • Do not use Pettyworx for anything illegal

06What happens if something goes wrong

We understand things do not always go to plan. Here is how we handle it:

  1. Talk it out — use the in-app chat to raise the issue directly with the provider
  2. Request a change — you can request a change to the scope or price through the platform
  3. Contact Pettyworx — we will facilitate a resolution. We review the evidence in the platform (messages, photos, job record) and make a non-binding recommendation
  4. Last resort — either party may take the matter to the Small Claims Court or an independent arbitrator

Pettyworx is a dispute facilitator, not a judge. Evidence captured inside the platform carries full weight — keep your proof in the app.

07Ratings and reviews

After a job, you can rate your provider and leave a review. Please be honest and fair. Do not post false or defamatory reviews or review providers you have never worked with.

We may remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

08Cancellations

  • You can cancel a job before a provider accepts it at no charge
  • If you cancel after a provider has accepted, a cancellation fee may apply (shown before you confirm)
  • Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in restrictions on your account

09Your account

  • Keep your login details private
  • If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately at support@pettyworx.co.za
  • We can suspend or close accounts used fraudulently or in violation of these terms

10Our liability

Pettyworx is a platform. We are not responsible for the quality or outcome of the work done by a provider, or for damage or injury that occurs during a job. We will always do our best to help resolve problems through the platform.

11Changes to these terms

If we make changes that affect your rights, we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Pettyworx after the changes means you accept the new terms.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes about these terms will be dealt with in the courts of South Africa.
